Problem Set 6

Problem Set 6 is due at the beginning of class on Tuesday, October 19th.

NO PROBLEM SETS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11:05 AM, unless prior arrangements have been made, so make sure to come to class on time!

Probelm Set 6 Directions:   To receive full credit, you must show all of your work.  You may use calculators/computer software for any problems that involve row reducing a matrix.

Complete the following problems:

• Section 3.2 (2a*, 3e*, 4cd, 12bc, 13a, 15)

*For problems 2a and 3e, either prove that all the axioms for being a subspace hold, or show that at least one of them fails.

The following problems from Section 3.3 will be on the next problem set.   They are not due on October 19th, but you can get started on them now if you have time because we have covered all of the relevant material to complete them already.
